The battle of the American Experience begins with a quest for an individual identity, progresses to the strive for a dream, and ends with a sacrifice to pass along the strength acquired on this journey. The ideal American Character is able to fight through the obstacles along the journey by knowing who he or she truly is, staying hopeful and in the moment, and standing up for his or her dignity. Once he or she has a sense of identity, the American Character grows further as a person while chasing an ideal, and then takes this developed character and passes down the essential trait, the tragic flaw, to another; this individual can then begin the journey down the long, winding path of the struggles of the true American Experience.
